Meeting for Civil law and legal culture, this year’s event will exceptionally take place in digital format (entirely online), due to the Paris Olympic Games. The Summer School of civil Law will bring together students and legal professionals from all around the world.

The richness of our Summer School lies in the quality of the education, provided in the prestigious University Panthéon-Assas (Paris II), as well as in the diversity of the legal cultures that are represented.

We are particularly excited by the international dimension of this event, from the participants to the promotion of different legal cultures, offering many opportunities to meet and discuss with others.


There are 4 mandatory courses:
- Introduction to Continental Legal Culture
- European and International Contract Law
- Settlement of International Disputes
- Digital Law – Protection of Personal Data and Artificial intelligence

And 1 optional course, to be chosen from the following 2:
- Environmental Law
- Constitutional Law and Fundamental Freedoms


If successful at the final examination, participants will be awarded a Training Certificate in Civil Law from the University Panthéon-Assas (Paris II).

The Foundation will also organize meetings with leading French legal industry members, including lawyers, notaries, bailiffs, commercial court clerks and company lawyers...


For the French-speaking stream, classes will be held from Monday to Friday from 6p.m. to 8p.m. (Paris time/UTC+2).
For the English-speaking stream, the courses will be given from Monday to Friday from 5p.m. to 7p.m. (Paris time/UTC+2). Exceptional changes may occur.

Target group

The courses are available in two languages: French and English. A good level of skill will be required for your chosen language.

The Summer School targets people (students, legal practitioners, etc.) who have already graduated from a three-year legal course.

Course aim

Our ambition is to provide all participants a body of knowledge in civil law, its evolution and its influence on the legal and economic models currently under construction in the world.

Fee info

EUR 649: The registration fee, which is already subsidized by the Foundation, is 649€.

Registration fees can be paid by bank transfer, credit card or cash directly at the Fondation’s offices in Paris. No other form of payment is accepted. Payment in instalments is possible on request.

Scholarships

Scholarships can be exceptionally granted on justified request.
