Digital Transformation involves business processes and practices to help the organization compete effectively in an increasingly digital world. The adoption of new digital technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), has grown across a vast array of industries, as well as our daily lives. However, concerns about the ethics surrounding the implementation of those technologies have also increased. Thus, it is crucial for us to obtain a comprehensive overview of key ethical questions and normative issues. To this end, this course critically examines the implications of digital technologies and their various impacts on business, and considers societal challenges from the perspective of international business and management studies.

In particular, the course centres on sustainability-oriented innovation and responsible business development/practices, rather than technical aspects. The first week of the course will explain some major business/management frameworks, such as institutional perspectives, Innovation systems, and global value chains. The second week will be mostly dedicated to students' group presentations. Throughout the course, students are required to take part in class activities and discussions, investigating the ethical/moral challenges in promoting digital transition in different contexts.
