Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (July)

Imperial Global Summer School offers students from across the world, the opportunity to study at a global top ten university.

The two-week intensive residential programme provides the choice of four subjects: Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, Medicine and Life Sciences or Physics.


2024 Programme dates:
• Monday 1 July - Friday 12 July
• Monday 5 August - Friday 16 August

Launching in 2024, this exciting new subject focuses on the interdisciplinary field of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (AI), led by staff from the Data Science Institute (DSI). You will acquire essential skills in data analysis, along with the opportunity to work on real-world AI applications, through a combination of lectures, hands-on tutorials and group projects.

In 2024 you will*:
- Explore the foundations of data science - where data comes from, how we gather and store it, how we transform it into structures we can learn from, how we visualise it, how we secure and protect it, and how we learn from it.
- Cover the foundations of artificial intelligence (AI) and how data science is crucial for empowering AI, serving as the interface to AI and machine learning.

The Data Science Institute
The Data Science Institute is dedicated to advancing research and building community in the exciting interdisciplinary field of data science, the integrative fusion of mathematics, statistics, and computer science applied to address basic and practical problems in the sciences (natural, life, and social), engineering, and society.

Course aim

You will have the chance to take your subject knowledge to the next level through a challenging academic programme that balances lectures, seminars and a high level of practical work. This includes the chance to access professional advice and guidance around applying for university study in the UK, especially to Imperial College London.

Fee info

GBP 6600: The cost of the residential programme in 2024 will cover:*

- All tuition;
- Course materials, such as building materials, lab supplies and protective equipment;
- Masterclasses;
- Use of campus facilities, such as sports hall, classrooms and catering facilities.;
- Accommodation and on-site Wi-Fi;
- Three meals a day;
- Induction and orientation activities;
- Social activities, including travel to and from activities;
- Certificate of participation on completion of the Summer School, awarded by Imperial;
- Finale celebrations;
- Meet-and-greet transfer service at Heathrow airport on the first and final day.
