Energy Planning of 100% Renewable Energy Systems

when 2 September 2024 - 6 September 2024
language English
duration 1 week
fee EUR 350

Summer school on energy planning of 100% renewable energy systems is centered on energy and climate planning and modelling of smart energy systems and exchange of experiences with experts in the field. A special focus will be on the improvements of existing energy planning tool and models, with improved data management, policy, and scenario assessment, as well as systematic dynamic modelling of relevant environmental, economic, social, and technological variables. Finding a new and improved representation of smart energy systems is a key issue in calculating policy scenarios and their emissions.

The summer school is organized as a combination of short introductory lectures and computer workshops in a total of 5 days. Each day is reserved for one of the modeling tools, starting with brief introduction and continuing with hands-on workshop. Participants can choose to work only in one of the tools, if they have specific individual assignment (with the help of the lecturers if needed), or they can participate in analyses of 100% renewable energy systems in each tool presented on the lectures.
