The “Special Topics in Quantitative and Qualitative Analysis and Research Methods” Summer School focuses on exploring special topics and issues of research methodology and analysis. Its aim is to train scientists who wish to expand their knowledge and know-how in the fields of primary and secondary social research.

The official language of the summer school is Greek.

Course leader

Costas Rontos, Ass.Professor in Quantitative Research Methods for Social Sciences (Sociology Department ) and Economics of Space, Human Geography, Rural Development and Policy (Geography Department ), at the Aegean University.

Target group

The program welcomes students, researchers, and personnel from the academic and technological sectors who wish to expand their technical and scientific knowledge of planning, designing, organizing, contacting qualitative and quantitative research as well as interpreting data using the most appropriate and suitable research methods and tools in relevant scientific fields in humanities and social sciences. The program of the Summer School is designed to maximize the benefits obtained by both novices and experts in methods of research and analysis in the specific fields of research they are involved or wish to do so.

Course aim

The aim of the Summer School is to contribute to the development of both theoretical and practical skills of its students in statistical research using specialized and state-of-the-art statistical software (eg SPSS, RapidMiner, etc.) as well as the design, conduct, and analysis of qualitative research.

EUR 550: Early registration fee for Participants that will register by April 15 and will be selected to attend the Summer School. It includes tuition fees, hand notes, hotel accommodation and the social events.
