Medical English in August
This course is intended for medical employees and medical students who want to improve their general English skills with a special focus on communication in a medical environment and the usage of medical terminology. Course contents will include medical case studies and simulations, medical evidence terminology, hospital experience, intercultural communication, doctor-patient talks as well as the discussion of patient treatments. The morning course consists of a total of 72 (18 x 4) hours. The lessons can be complemented by daily practise at the Language Lab and by attending an exercise course in the afternoons. Day trips to the Black Forest and the Alsace Region of France are offered in addition to a varied program in and around Freiburg, organized by our dedicated student tutors.
All our English language teachers are highly qualified and experienced native speakers.
This course requires a good to very good knowledge of English with a language level of B2 and higher.
German language skills are not required.
A Transcript of Records including your grade, your personal language level and your ECTS credit points will show your performances.
Up to 7 ECTS credit points can be issued by daily practise at the modern Language Lab and by attending seminars in the afternoon.
EUR 580: The course fee includes learning materials, access to the university PC pools and internet, as well as leisure activities.
EUR 300: Single rooms student dormitories or in shared flats in Freiburg may be arranged upon request.
