Universal Design of Information and Communication Technology
The main topic in this course is the design, evaluation, and testing of everyday technology developed in accordance with principles for universal accessibility. This is acquired through many practical exercises coupled with lectures presenting theories relevant to the field.
Another important part of the course is to gain knowledge of Norwegian and international legislation regarding the inclusion of all groups of users in society. During the course, the students are encouraged to acquire knowledge of various physical and cognitive disabilities and design universally accessible solutions for ICT in cooperation with users.
The course will provide both theoretical principles of universal design and hands-on experience on how to design and evaluate ICT systems using these principles.
This course is directed at students, ICT system designers, developers and others who are interested in universally accessible ICT solutions.
We also recommend a minimum of 30 ECTS within computer science.
