CIFE invites students and young professionals to apply for its one-week Summer University on the topic 'Migrations, droits de l’Homme et sécurité des frontières :
La crise migratoire dans les Balkans occidentaux
et l’Union Européenne.'

This Summer University course takes place in Split from 4 to 10 July 2016. About 30 international students can learn firstly about the history of Croatia and its cultural heritage, before covering the key topic of the migrant crisis that Croatia is facing today.


1. L’ Histoire de la Croatie :

- Panorama historique.

- Heritage culturel.

- Culture.

2. Les aspects historiques, géographiques et juridiques de la crise migratoire dans
les Balkans :

- Historique des migrations en Croatie et dans les Balkans

- Les aspects géographiques de la route empruntée par les migrants dans les Balkans

3. La gestion de la crise migratoire par l’Union européenne dans la région des Balkans

- La protection des droits de l’homme

- La règlementation européenne en matière de migration, de droit d’asile et d’intégration

- Les instruments de gestion pour réglementer la sécurité

- Les accords avec les organisations internationales et les états tiers

Course aim

A balanced mixture of seminars, lectures, and cultural visits ensure an active involvement of the students. Participants have the possibility to work and discuss their ideas in an open atmosphere and within a multidisciplinary and international framework.
The CIFE Summer School is known for its level of excellence, the high level of both academic speakers and practitioners, and the active involvement of the participants in all discussions and debates. This outstanding experience will certainly provide the participants with an interesting exchange and mutual learning, deep EU expertise and relevant output for their CV.
