An appreciation of the general workings of the economy is now increasingly important to government policy, business strategy, and the general public. The broad scope of our course in Economics gives you the ability to combine this general appreciation with options to deepen your knowledge in a specific area of focus.
Our course is taught by world-leading experts in their respective fields, and will be taught through the tutorial method (see below).
There is significant scope to this course, and if you are successfully accepted onto the programme you will be asked which unit(s) you wish to study by your tutor. The list of units is provided below:
Unit 1: Introductory Economics
Unit 2: Quantitative Economics
Unit 3: Macroeconomics
Unit 4: Microeconomics
Unit 5: Finance
There is considerable scope for specialisation within each Unit, and they are not meant to be rigid; students are encouraged to look outside of their unit in order to expand their horizons. For example, within the 'Macroeconomics' module there is the option to focus in on a specific area such as unemployment and inflation by agreement with your tutor.
