System Engineering Managing complexity of in-service systems
Complex Industrial and infrastructural systems are increasingly managed on basis of Systems Engineering (SE). The challenge is to create or upgrade great products like airports, chemical factories, railway infrastructure & rolling stock, port facilities, you name it. Some SE fundamentals are: managing complexity, system architecture; systems thinking; user specification; life cycle optimization; verification & validation. Some of the Process characteristics for SE are: modelling, functional design and physical design.
