Pharmacy Education and Training
Education and training of pharmacists requires the development of knowledge, skills and attitudes that prepare students for a professional role in healthcare. 21th Century education in the pharmaceutical field is based on competency profiles, which are developed by professional organizations. In Europe the European Association of Faculties of Pharmacy (EAFP) and the EU-sponsored Phar-QA consortium play a central role in strengthening the quality of Pharmacy education.
This course is intended to assist pharmacy teachers and curriculum developers to become familiar with the principles of competency-based curriculum design and with the construction of active learning modules, which can be incorporated in their own curriculum. Special attention will be given to problem-based, project-based and enquiry-based learning and to incorporation of professional development of students. Participants are expected to take an active role in the course by bringing cases from their own teaching experience.
All course instructors have at least a 10-year experience in developing innovative courses and curricula in the pharmaceutical field at the undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate level. The course is organized in collaboration with the European Association of Faculties of Pharmacy (EAFP) and the Phar-QA consortium.

The course is primarily intended for faculty members (teachers, programme leaders), staff developers and other professionals, who are involved in the development and/or quality enhancement of curricula or courses in Pharmacy Schools at the undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate level.
The aim of the course is to provide participants with a working knowledge of relevant aspects of curriculum development in the pharmaceutical field. A secondary aim is the formation of a network of pharmacy education professionals
