The main objective of this course is to introduce you to modern methodologies, principles and tools required for defining and managing projects in complex environments. You are going to prepare a formal project plan and business case of a selected project. In addition, all participants will get hands on experience in managing complex projects by creating and managing them by using various online tools.

Course aim

The student will get the skills to:
• Understand modern project management using methodologies such as PMI and PRINCE2
• Use Visual Studio Online to Manage a project based on SCRUM
• Develop and implement a project plan and business case.


1st week:

Day 1 – Basics of Project Management

Day 2 – Project Identification and Selection and Planning

Day 3 - Organisational Structure and Organisational Issues
• Concept of Organisational Structure, Roles and Responsibilities of Project Leader
• Relationship between Project Manager and Line Manager, Leadership Styles for Project Managers
• Conflict Resolution, Team Management and Diversity Management, Change management
Day 4 - PERT and CPM, Resources Considerations in Projects
• Introduction, Development of Project Network, Time Estimation, Determination of the Critical Path, PERT Model, Measures of variability, CPM Model, Network Cost System

Day 8 - Project Execution and Control, Close-out and Follow-up
• Project Execution, Project Control Process, Purpose of Project Execution and Control

Day 9 - Project Management Software
• Introduction, Advantages of Using Project Management Software, Common Features Available In Most of the Project Management Software, Illustration

Credits info

You will receive an official Certificate of Attendance upon completion of your course which you may use to show evidence of the skills you have learnt during the course and have the credits accepted by your home university.

Fee info

EUR 725: All courses take place in a new building of French Institute right in the center of Prague.
EUR 182: Accommodation fee for a 14 night stay at Botic Student House starts at 13EUR/night.

Everyday afternoon or evening activities organized - sports, weekend trips, city tours, sightseeings, parties etc.
