English Language and British Culture - Intermediate Level
For many of our non-native speakers of English the most important aspect of a summer school is to develop their communication skills in both written and spoken English language. The English Language and British Culture programme has been developed to equip students with these skills, and our experienced staff are there to guide, support and encourage. They will deliver the programme through a range of interactive sessions and group exercises which will offer a welcoming environment for all to share their experiences. There will be ample time for critical reflection on the use of the English language in various settings. All students will take part in our fieldtrips, which will give them an opportunity to visit local areas of interest and consolidate their knowledge. This will include a day-trip to Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare as well as the Black Country Museum where they can experience the true history of the West Midlands.
The programme will also include social and cultural visits for all to participate in and to explore their surroundings with new friends from all around the world.
All participants must have a good level of English at the equivalent of IELTS Level 5.0, with a minimum of 4.5 in each component. All participants must be aged 18 or above at the start of this programme.
