Do you want to broaden your academic horizons and develop specialized knowledge in European politics, history, business, and culture? Our Fall Term Program offers you a three-month study abroad experience and provides the possibility of obtaining course credits.

You study Europe in diverse academic classes, designed for interested students who already have some basic understanding of the aforementioned fields. Each course is held by a different Tübingen University lecturer and brings together our international guest students and Tübingen based students eager to study Europe in English. As this program overlaps with the current academic year at the University of Tübingen, you will be able to experience student life in Tübingen as well. Furthermore, the Fall Term Program serves as a opportunity for international students interested in further studies at Tübingen University at the M.A. or even PhD level.

Course leader

Seminars are taught in English by University of Tübingen faculty dedicated to the study of Europe. In addition, you meet with European politicians, debate on current European affairs, and attend guest lectures by experts from each of the different fields.

Target group

The Fall Term Program is designed for advanced undergraduate students who already have some basic understanding of the respective fields and is intended to supplement students' curriculum.
Furthermore, the IES Fall Term Program serves as an opportunity for international students interested in further studies at Tübingen University at the M.A. or even PhD level.
Participants must be at least 18 years old and and must have a very good command of English to be able to follow the academic courses and participate in discussions.

Course aim

The three month IES Fall Term Program offers advanced international undergraduate students the chance to broaden their academic horizons and deepen their knowledge of diverse fields such as European Union politics and history, economics, and European culture. You study Europe in diverse academic classes, designed for interested students who already have some basic understanding (in some) of the aforementioned fields.

Credits info

20 ECTS
Within the Fall Term Program max. 24 ECTS credits can be awarded. ECTS credits will only be awarded after successful completion of the courses and fulmillment of all course requirements.

Fee info

EUR 0: Seminars are taught in English by Tübingen University faculty dedicated to the study of Europe. In addition, you meet with European politicians, debate on current European affairs, and attend guest lectures by experts from each of the different fields.
EUR 5200: The program fee is € 5,200 and includes:
all courses, course materials, 1-day excursion to Strasbourg (transfer, guided tours, entrance fees), 3-day excursion to Berlin (flight, accommodation, guided tours, entrance fees), 3-day excursion to Amsterdam / The Hague (flight, accommoation, guided tours, entrance fees), accommodation in a host family or student dormitory, cultural and social activities, a public transportion ticket for use within Tübingen, welcome and farewell party.

Scholarships

Within the Fall Term Program limited financial support in the form of a reduction of the program fee is available. The financial support is awarded on the basis of academic achievement and financial need and is granted only for participation in the Semest
