Theoretical background and hands on the portable instrumentation in fieldwork, use and learning of specialized softwares. Intensive course allowing proper time out to relax, get inspired from lovely Delphi environs, combine learning experience with participatation in local life.

Course aim

Accredited Summer School at Delphi 13 days on digital technologies applied το documentation and promotion of cultural heritage and cultural tourism. Includes:

• 1 day introduction to the current state-of-the-art and trends for future innovation
• 4 days lab & theory on digital archaeometry
• 3 days theory and fieldwork practice on 3D digitization & imaging
• 1 day introduction to cultural databases, repositories and international standards
• 1 day museum and sanctuary of Delphi guiding and touring
• 2 days educational trips in the Delphi archaeological environs
• 1 day free preparation for exams

ACCREDITATION - VERIFICATION
5 ECTS Credit Units (lectures, Fieldwork, software practice, exams) (1 ECTS - European Credit Transfer System =~ 25 hrs workload and includes lectures, preparation/reading, fieldwork and lab work and lectures).
Graduate students are subjected to an exam test by 20th July 2016 on the course lectures.
The instructors will evaluate the final grade derived from a) exams (weight 60%), b) the preparatory Essay prior to this Course (30%), as well as, b) the reflective Journal (diary with daily academic activities) & participation in discussions and lectures (10%).

• 9 hours tuition per day
• Visits to museums & environs (free for EU and half price for non EU, and archaeological sites and landscape in Delphi environs),

• B&B single room for each (sharing room in separate beds is possible)
