Experimental Auctions: Theory and Applications in Food Marketing and Consumer Preferences Analysis
This is a 6-day training on the emerging marketing research technique called "Experimental Auctions". It is a unique opportunity for students, researcher and practitioners to be introduced intto the fields of experimental economics and behavioral economics. The instructors are leading scientists in this area and excellent teachers. The 2016 course is the 5th edition of this Summer School.
The course is open to consultants, graduate students, PhD students, academics, and other practitioners, with a master’s degree in agriculture, economics, statistics, or equivalent degrees. Students with a bachelor degree who are preparing their master’s degree dissertation may also be exceptionally considered, depending on supervisor's recommendation.
The summer school "Experimental Auctions: Theory and Applications in Food Marketing and Consumer Preferences Analysis" is aimed at learning the fundamentals and the recent advances of experimental auctions. The course provides the appropriate techniques to construct an experimental design, with software applications and workshops regarding specific problems in the fields of food market valuation. It will also provide the appropriate knowledge of the models used in the experimental auction literature for the data analysis. Results interpretation and policy implications will be also discussed.
The workload for the course is 42 hours of classwork (teaching). The University of Bologna does not award credits for this Summer School.
The course workload would correspond to a variable number of credits depending on the participant's University's policy and credits system.
It is the responsibility of each student to verify with her/his own doctoral/master program whether this activity can be converted into credits and on what extent, and to request the recognition of credits at her/his Institution.
Master's students and PhD students participating to the course who need to be graded to receive credits can attend the final exam.
