This programme aims to equip students with an understanding of the archaeozoological and paleobotanic basics required in archaeological research. In particular, the programme introduces students to archaeozoological material features and their sampling methods; current issues concerning the interpretation of archaeobilogical data; fieldwork and archaeozoological data collection. At the core of the programme is a series of lab sessions involving the development of practical skills and involving osteological materials from medieval sites of the Volga region.
Working languages: Russian and English. The programme is delivered in Russian with interpretation and translation to English provided by a certified interpreter.

This programme is for both Undergraduate and Postgraduate students, regardless of nationality. Recent graduates up to the age of 35 are also welcome. Visa support for non-Russian nationals is provided, where required.
