Sustainably designed housing has way lower effects on the environment due to low consumption of water, energy and fuel. In order to apply any passive design strategies in the buildings it is crucial to have a good knowledge in building physics and building performance analysis software. In this course, you will learn how to design a sustainable house and justify the solutions with programs like Ecotect, Revit and others.
During the course, the students will be working in groups on an extension project in campus, where the main goal is preparing thorough analysis in building performance and applying different passive strategies. Each group is going to prepare visualized material explaining the development of the project.
The course contains theoretical lessons in building physics and passive design strategies, workshops about different analytical software and how to develop a BIM project for analysis in Revit. During the course, there will be part evaluations of the students’ knowledge. The result of these evaluations will also affect the final grade of the course.
The main goal of the course is to prepare students for building passive houses while using different Autodesk and climate data software to find the best solutions for specific sites.
