The Summer School “Learning in tourism” is an initiative of Observatory on Tourism in the European Islands (OTIE). One of the main objectives of OTIE is to organize training seminars and courses, giving the occasion to participants to know the tourism sector and to apply their knowledge in the development planning.

OTIE Summer School 2016 - Main goals:
• educating and training future tourism professionals;
• encouraging the future creation of cultural tourism products in European islands;
• encouraging the development of different types of tourism to extend seasonality;
• creating new tourism products, especially cultural ones, to shake off islands’ association with seaside tourism.
To achieve this goals it takes focusing on new assets: tangible and intangible cultural heritage.

1. 20 hours of frontal lessons and working groups with professors and experts on the specific topics of the Summer school;
2. Certificate of attendance, from OTIE and Malta University;
4. Educational material from the professors;
5. Kit summer school (writing material);
6. Final lunch.

1. 6 nights in double room in ITS Campus (Qala), breakfast included;
2. 20 hours of frontal lessons and working groups with professors and experts on the specific topics of the Summer school;
