This module is designed to give you an idea what it is to be, think, and speak like a Czech, which will in turn leave you with a good sense of all that went into the making of a modern European state. Learn the fascinating history of this nation in the heart of Europe, and how it fits in the context of the overall Continent. We’ll introduce you to the Czech society, which has undergone major changes over the last 25 years and cover the way of thinking of Czechs as we ponder together with the brightest thinkers and writers of Czech literature. There will even be a short course in the Czech language. The Lager style of beer was invented in Czech and is a key part of the culture. One of the Czech features includes “hanging out” with friends over a glass of well-chilled beer. We’ll enjoy a hands-on experience in the technology of beer brewing. All of this carefully prepared for our special guests in this sophisticated but entertaining option for your summer school experience.

Our course includes a field trip to a Czech brewery.
