The Health Summer School will provide an opportunity for nurses to gain an overview of the prevention and care provided by the UK National Health Service. The Summer School will have a focus on developing community care and services for people with enduring conditions and will include visits to relevant clinical facilities, orientation by clinical practitioners, an overview of the School research programme which underpins care approaches and a special emphasis on the education system which produces autonomous, critically thinking, problem solving practitioners. Participants will be able to discuss their own areas of research interest with our professors and take part in personalised sessions which will help you develop your research and clinical skills as well as developing your academic and professional career.

This experiential learning based course will include guidance on career planning, along with clinical visits in Glasgow and the surrounding area.

Social Programme:
As with all GCU International Summer School courses, participants will experience a comprehensive social programme consisting of various events and excursions, showcasing the best of Glasgow and Scotland as both study and tourist destinations.

This is a non-credit-bearing course. A certificate of completion will be awarded to participants.

Fee info

GBP 2450: This fee is based on a standard participation of four weeks. If you wish to enquire about a longer or shorter duration, please contact summerschool@gcu.ac.uk with your requested arrival and leaving dates, and we will get back to you with the appropriate course fee.

The course fee includes tuition, private bedroom accommodation, airport pick-up and drop-off (Glasgow International Airport only), welcome pack and t-shirt, as well as all events and excursions included in the social programme.
