Retail Design

when 23 August 2016 - 2 September 2016
language English
duration 2 weeks
credits 3 ECTS
fee EUR 300

The general set-up is to combine the state-of-the-art knowledge coming from both academics and experienced practitioners with the creativity of students. Three major themes are highlighted during the morning teaching sessions: retail design (spatial), sensory marketing (experiential), and online & digital developments. In the afternoon sessions, students will actively engage in a design workshop in multidisciplinary teams, supervised by experienced retail designers. Each day, the teachers of the morning sessions will also assist in supervising the afternoon sessions to ensure an optimal integration of the knowledge.
Additionally, a guided visit to the guest town of Hasselt and excursions to interesting and relevant sites within Flanders (Genk and Antwerp) will introduce students to different aspects of Flemish culture in general and the retail landscape in Flanders in particular. Extra-curricular activities and social events will further stimulate international collaboration and ensure a lively and fun atmosphere.
