The aim of the seminar is to offer railway related organizations an annual seminar of two weeks on the latest developments within the railway sector on European level. Participants get the unique opportunity to work for two weeks in an international environment, to set up a network among colleagues from all European countries and think about the changes within their sector, as well on national as on international level. They get the opportunity to confront the changes they are working out at home with the solutions others have given to the same problems in the various European countries.

Course leader

The European Training Centre for Railways (ETCR), the College of Europe and the European Railway Agency (ERA) are jointly organizing the 54rd edition of the ETCR Seminar on EU Transport and Railway Affairs, a summer school taking place from 27 June to 8 J

Target group

•candidates are or will be carrying out important managerial functions (preferably in international activities)
•they have been working for at least 4 years within the railway sector
•they are between 30 and 45 years old
•they must have an academic or equivalent professional training
•participants must be able to contribute actively to discussions in small groups and to plenary debate
•the participants should be able to participate in discussion in English.

Course aim

We offer the best conditions to get the most out of the existing information on transport and the projects set up by the European Commission, the European Parliament, the European Rail Agency, as well as the viewpoints of the European railway associations such as CER and EIM. We also involve our customers (both passengers and freight), as well as our competitors or partners (e.g. road transport, aviation, transport by waterways).

EUR 3000: The price for subscription (€3000 ), to be paid by the Railway Company or organisation of the participant, includes all meals and lodging.
