Learning to turn a bright idea into a business. This course explores the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, introducing theory and practice, issues encountered on the entrepreneurial journey, and – most importantly – how you can become an entrepreneur yourself. The course covers key topics associated with entrepreneurship, including entrepreneurial motivation, business models, creating a robust business case, and investment. It focuses specifically on how and why some innovations are successfully commercialised, with particular emphasis on the role of the innovator-entrepreneur.

On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
-Identify and discuss different business contexts
-Recognise entrepreneurial characteristics and reflect on their own interest in entrepreneurial activity
-Research and critically evaluate a business opportunity and its market
-Present a business plan for a business idea or opportunity
