The program offers 2 weeks in the whole of courses, lectures and technical visits: 1) - one week in livorno at polo sistemi logistici of university of pisa placed at the end of june/beginning of july for students from united arab emirates coming from faculties of engineering and/or high colleges of technologies, jointly with students coming from polo sistemi logistici and/or unipi college of engineering. The students will attend to a class of ict for logistics systems, a class of yard freight management, a class on railway networks and some lectures of italian culture, customs and traditions (elementary level). The students will also attend to technical visits at port of livorno, at freight village of guasticce and at road-railway terminal of capannori-porcari. The weekend is free, generally devoted for uae students to the cultural visit of main local monuments and attractions (e.G.: florence and the worldwide known pisa leaning tower).

Target group

The winter/summer school in sea-land logistics rises from mutual scientific and educational interests, and it is framed in a bilateral exchange of students between unipi and a corresponding university/high college in UAE.

Course aim

The first aim is in presenting some distinguished lectures from the field of strategic and sustainable logistics and transport systems. Course topics will include lectures on international trade, freight transport management, railway systems, port logistics and ict for sustainable transportation.
The second aim of the winter/summer school is to offer an international exchange experience to students of all educational institutions involved in.
