In the field of environmental policy the EU has clearly defined objectives such as confronting global climate change, protection of biodiversity and human health, and sustainable resource use. Through lectures, seminars and field studies participants will develop skills and competencies required for active engagement in the environmental concerns or our times.

Target group

International undergraduates or recent graduates from relevant fields with a strong interest in environmental issues.

Course aim

The mission of this summer academy is to provide students with a broad understanding of how to balance social and economic needs with environmental realities, to discuss the creative use of resources for sustainable development, and to consider the role of environmental values in drafting legislation and policy making.
