The programme takes place in two different cities of Estonia: Tallinn - the capital and Tartu - the University town.

Week I in Tallinn - Estonian Business Environment 9-16 July
Week II in Tartu - EU and Russian Relations 16-23 July

Each week the lectures/seminars will be held from Monday to Friday. In the afternoons there will study trips to state establishments, NGOs and/or enterprises or culture programme. Programme consists:

- Lectures and seminars will be provided by the professors of the participating universities.
- Study visits to governmental institutions, enterprises and/or NGOs.
- Cultural programme introduces Estonian society, culture and history in a wider perspective.
- Self-study: 2-weeks prior to the start of the programme all participants will be forwarded readings which they need to work through by the start of the programme.

Target group

The programme is designed for BA and MA level students with study background in political and social sciences, business and economics, international relations, area studies etc.

Course aim

The programme will introduce the challenges and achievements of social, economic and political reforms and their past, present and future impacts on local as well as on international scale. The programme addresses areas which have made Estonia to stand out globally and noted by international observers like BBC as a new Silicon Valley: digital society and e-state with various ICT services and technologies. Second week will tackle ever-changing EU-Russian relations that illustrate the complexity of Estonian political and social transformation.

Fee info

EUR 1395: Fee includes tuition, accommodation with breakfast, transportation during the programme between the cities, cost of the study visits, cultural and social programme and the services of the host university. Students are responsible for their travel from their home country to Tallinn and from Tartu to their home country.
