Social Dimension: EU-Russian Relations and Baltic Regional Security
The programme takes place in two different cities of Estonia: Tartu - the University town and Pärnu - the coastal "summer capital".
Week II in Tartu - EU and Russian Relations 16-23 July
Week III in Pärnu - Baltic Regional Security 23-29 July
Each week the lectures/seminars will be held from Monday to Friday. In the afternoons there will study trips to institutions, NGOs and/or enterprises or culture programme. Programme consists:
- Lectures and seminars will be provided by the professors of the participating universities.
- Study visits to institutions, enterprises and/or NGOs.
- Cultural programme introduces Estonian society, culture and history in a wider perspective
- Self-study: 2-weeks prior to the start of the programme all participants will be forwarded readings which they need to work through by the start of the programme.

The programme is designed for BA and MA level students with study background in political and social sciences, business and economics, international relations, area studies etc.
The programme will introduce the challenges and achievements of social, economic and political reforms and their past, present and future impacts on local as well as on international scale. Students will learn of state-of-the-art achievements generated by quick and efficient transformation from state-controlled economic system into free market economy. Matters of foreign policies of the countries of the Baltic Sea region and the ever-changing EU-Russian relations illustrate the complexity of Estonian political and social transformation.
EUR 1395: Fee includes tuition, accommodation with breakfast, transportation during the programme between the cities, cost of the study visits, cultural and social programme and the services of the host university. Students are responsible for their travel from their home country to Tartu and from Pärnu to their home country.
