The first edition of the Summer School “Multidisciplinary and
interdisciplinary aspects of host-parasites interactions” will take place in the beautiful city of
Cluj-Napoca, in Transylvania, being hosted by the University of Agricultural Sciences and
Veterinary Medicine of Cluj-Napoca. The event brings together international experts in the fields
of parasitology, evolutionary sciences, psychology, ethology, biostatistics and behavioral
ecology.

undergraduate and postgraduate students, scholars and researchers in the fields of biology,
ecology, veterinary and human medicine, psychology, behavioral sciences and connected areas

Course aim

The specific aim of the course is to immerse the participants in the multidisciplinary and
interdisciplinary aspects of host-parasites interactions, by offering challenging lectures on topics
such as: Darwinian medicine, parasites-associated behavioral and psychological changes in
humans, parasites and the evolution of sex, parasites and food webs, immunological aspects of
host-parasites interactions and social parasites.
