International Summer School Sarajevo 2017 is dedicated to explore Transitional Justice, the Key Concepts, Processes and Challenges in South-East Europe.

Course leader

ISSS 2017 will host prominent lecturers with vast experience in the field of Institutional Reform, Rule of Law, Human Rights and Transitional Justice.

Target group

The program encourages applications from graduate and PhD students of law and related disciplines and young professionals (under the age of 35); including a limited number of undergraduate students from South East Europe, Europe and the US.

Course aim

• To empower future decision makers to work to establish the Rule of Law and Human Rights system in transitional countries.
• To widen theoretical and practical skills of participants.
• To influence changes in transitional countries towards sustainable Rule of Law and the respect of Human Rights.

Association “PRAVNIK” awards a certificate of attendance upon successful completion of the summer school. In order to gain this certificate, participants will be expected to attend and actively participate in all classes and complete assignments required by the summer school.


Credits
ISSS does not use a credit system for the awarding of its internal degrees, and cannot award credit directly for its ISSS participation. Students wishing to obtain credit as a result of our evaluation should consult their own institutions in advance about the acceptability of the Summer School evaluation for credit purposes. The amount of credit awarded is at the discretion of individual institutions but a rough guide would suggest students completing a full 10 days of the ISSS (with a 70 hour workload and a essay) might earn four (4) to six (6) semester credit hours. To compliment this all certificates will be come along with the transcript of all ISSS activities, which will outline all learning outcomes.

Fee info

EUR 750: he full participation fee for ISSS 2017 is 750€ which covers accommodation, meals and working materials. Early bird payments of the full participation fee (within 10 days from the acceptance notification) will be reduced to 600 €.

Scholarships

There are 25 scholarships available which will be available which covers fee reductions. Students with a scholarship pay the reduced participation fee of 200 € which covers accommodation, meals and working materials. This scholarship is further reduced to
