The Physician Assistant is a health care professional that works under limited supervision of a physician and offers professional medical care.
The Physician Assistant has been introduced in the Netherlands in 2001. In the span of 10 years the Physician Assistant has been accepted as a new and valuable profession. The Physician Assistant contributes to a more efficient health care. At this moment 600 Physician Assistants are active in the Netherlands. They work in almost all medical fields.
This summer course informs you about the implementation and professional education of the Physician Assistant in the Netherlands. You’ll have the opportunity to meet physician assistants, PA educators and physicians.
The program consists of: lectures, workshops, excursions to healthcare institutions and presentations.

Course aim

By attending this summer course you will be informed about the implementation and professional education of Physician Assistant in the Netherlands. Besides, you will experience the diversity of the Physician Assistant activities and enjoy the topics we offer you.
Major Topics are: The PA in the Netherlands, Emergency Care, Pharmacotherapy, Practicing Basic Skills and Result of clinical research done by Physician Assistant.
