duration 1 week

This year’s COM2017 is unique in that it will be directly followed by a Winterschool on Multilingualism on 9 and 10 November 2017, essentially creating a 5-day international event about bi- and multilingualism. The Winterschool is targeted at graduate students, including PhD candidates. In nine 3-hour sessions, led by international well-known and leading researchers on bi- and multilingualism, participants are familiarized with essential methods and techniques used in collecting and analyzing multilingualism data. Each workshop moreover includes hands-on experiencing using the method or technique demonstrated. The program for the Winterschool is included below. Each day will see various workshops (2 parallel ones in the morning and 2 in the afternoon, sometimes 3). Participants register for at most 2 workshops per day: one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Please note that each workshop has a capacity of 25 participants at the most to allow the format of hands-on experience with a given method to be greatest. Once a workshop is completely full, we will post this on our website. Placement is awarded on a first-come-first-serve basis. Please note that the registration fee for the Winterschool includes all coffee/tea breaks and lunches. Winterschool participation is free for U4 delegates: graduate students from Ghent, Göttingen, Groningen, and Uppsala.
