CRI Labs Summer School 2018
The CRI Labs Summer School is an 8-week, free & open, challenge-based university, focused on advancing the UN’s sustainable development goals (SDG). Join forces with 50 talented international participants from a variety of fields, and learn together by tackling real-world problems. You will create Learning and research games (video, physical or both), Makerspace devices using digital fabrication tools (3D printing, laser cutting…) and open source hardware electronics or Art Installations that can mix both game and device.
The programme (4 june - 27 july)
Week 1
General introduction & technologic workshops on a special track (Arduino, Unity, 3D Modeling, Frugal making devices, Data mining & visualization, Interfaces, Frugal biology, Art installation)
week 2 & week 3
Applied masterclasses mentaround health, education and environnemental problematics, mentored by specialists coming with an exploring project proposed to the participants
week 4
Paper prototyping and field testing
week 5 & week 6
Functional prototyping
week 7
Showcase to the public during a public exhibit at the Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie - the largest Science Museum in Europe.
week 8
Documentation & hands over to the mentors aimed to use the prototype in their day to day application.
