Basics of Game Development
Game development is a process of designing and creating games. This course is focusing on making – coding and programming games, the course time will not be spent for putting together game design documents (GDD). During the course participants will learn traditional coding through remaking several retro games:
– Console (terminal) game
– Game UI development
– Text adventure game
– Pong action game
– 3D pong game
– Multiplayer pong
In order to the get quick results, an high end game design platform and engine – Unity – will be used.
Course leader
The course leader Roman Gorislavski is a freelancer game developer and Digital Learning Games master’s student.
Target group
The course is for beginners and has no specific prerequisites, but it is recommended to attend Design of Serious Games and Gamification Workshop courses. The course is limited to 20 participants.
Course aim
The objective of the course is to provide knowledge and introduce practical skills in order to develop digital games.
Fee info
EUR 250: Early-Bird Course Fee until March 31, 2021 (200 euros for students). Accommodation, cultural programme and meals are not included in the the price.
EUR 300: Regular Course Fee after March 31, 2021 (250 euros for students). Accommodation, cultural programme and meals are not included in the the price.
