Each year the Summer School Committee of RAMS (Radboud Annals of Medical Students) organizes a Summer School for (bio)medical students. The theme of this year’s Summer School is Innovation in Cardiology. Are you interested in Cardiology, Cardiothoracic surgery or Peadiatric Cardiology? Then save the date!

The Summer School Innovation in Cardiology will take place at the Radboud University, Nijmegen (The Netherlands) from the 8th till the 12th of July. Registration will be available for Dutch as well as foreign (bio)medical students.

The Summer School consists of a general program in which the students will get a better and deeper understanding of the different facets of the Cardiology. The lectures will not only give you a better understanding of the basics of Cardiology (such as cardiac anatomy and physiology), they will also introduce you to topics and techniques that are even an element of the education of Cardiologist, such as how to perform and interpret echocardiography and practicing dissection and surgical techniques. There are also practical workshops which highlight Cardiothoracic surgery and Pediatric Cardiology.

Besides the general program students are offered modules in which the students will be split into groups. They will get acquainted with the subject of the module and will get a group assignment. This group assignment will be due on Friday when students will give their final presentation.

Information about the modules will be given after acceptation in the Summer School. Students will choose a module of their interest and will be assigned to a module before the beginning of the Summer School. Being assigned to the module of interest unfortunately cannot be guaranteed.

Since we work in groups no individual grades will be given.
