The aim of the course is to give advanced knowledge of logistics in purchasing and supply chain management with a global perspective. The focus is on the purchasing functions importance of the company result, including elements such as supplier relations & portfolio, globalization, sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility CSR), legal aspects,
performance measurements (KPIs) among
others.

Target group

Undergratudate/Bachelor level students in the areas of business administration or engineering.

Course aim

Intended Learning Outcomes (ILO)
After a successful course, the student should
Knowledge and understanding
- display knowledge of purchasing logistics and its role in an industrial setting, including
knowledge regarding the basic terminology, methods and models and be familiar with current
research
- demonstrate comprehension of the design, planning and management of materials and
information flow, with focus on purchasing and logistics
Skills and abilities
- demonstrate the ability to design, plan and manage materials and information flows by making
conscious decisions regarding the employed purchasing strategy
- be capable of searching, finding, gathering, evaluating and making a critical interpretation of
purchasing related information
- demonstrate the ability to independently identify, formulate and analyze purchasing issues
- demonstrate the ability to independently plan, carry out and summarize in a written report a
purchasing related analysis
- demonstrate the ability to put acquired knowledge into practice and show an understanding of
the purchasing professionn
Judgement and approach
- demonstrate the ability to suggest and compare different alternatives for designing, planning
and managing materials flow with focus on purchasing while considering the consequences and
risks associated with the alternatives
- demonstrate the ability to judge sustainability aspects of purchasing, supplier relations and
transportations
- demonstrate the ability to apply an interdisciplinary approach and a systems perspective

Fee info

SEK 20000: Tuition fee, including the transcript of academic records and certificate after completing the course successfully.
SEK 1000: Social and cultural package. Includes: welcome lunch, company visits, trip to one of Sweden’s best-preserved castles from the16th century in Vadstena, a trip to Gränna a charming city where popular peppermint candy canes are being handmade, excursions in the Swedish nature, Swedish Mid-summer celebration and more fun activities!
