Technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) are transformative forces reshaping business strategies, value models, products, services and operations worldwide, creating competitive advantage. Large organisations have specialised departments dedicated to scanning for industry trends and anticipating upcoming transformations.
Understanding these transformations is a critical skill for university students across all disciplines, both IT and non-IT, as new job opportunities are continuously emerging across all sectors.
This module provides a comprehensive overview of how technology evolves and becomes integrated into all aspects of business through dramatic shifts in business models. It is suitable for students from all disciplines who wish to enhance their knowledge of the non-IT perspective on technology transformations. It is particularly relevant if you are aspiring to become technology or business leaders and managers.
The module incorporates practical exercises using real-world scenarios, enabling you to gain cross-disciplinary skills. These activities also provide a foundation for continuing towards recognised certifications, thereby improving job prospects.
Theoretical concepts will be accompanied by practical exercises. Content will include, but not be limited to, IoT-driven and AI-driven business transformations.
