About

The winter school on electrocatalysis towards a greener society is a one-week programme, hosted by the University of Antwerp and the research group of Applied Electrochemistry and Catalysis (ELCAT) of the Applied Engineering faculty. The purpose is to introduce you to the world of green electrochemistry, starting from its basics and ultimately leading to the hottest applications that can currently be found in academia and industry.

Target group

PhD students or Master students in their last year with a background in engineering, chemistry or related fields. Professionals and industry participants in the same fields are also welcome to apply.

Course aim

The programme aims to introduce you to the world of green electrochemistry, providing insights into the hottest topic of the moment, including CO2 reduction to valuable chemicals and hydrogen production. The course will include a mixture of lectures by renowned scientists in the field, possibilities to discuss your own work and small group practical sessions to get hands-on experience with electrochemical measurements and how to analyse and interpret the data.

The tuition fee includes course material, coffee breaks, lunches, one dinner, several excursions and social activities. It does not include travel and accommodation.
