Course aim

The student:

-is able to evaluate his/her own and othersĀ“ values, attitudes and expectations regarding ageing and its effects on nursing, and -intervenes to correct possible flaws if necessary
-knows the service system structure for elderly people and its operational principles
-knows the normal changes caused by ageing and can distinguish them from pathological ones
-knows essential gerontological nursing methods and knows technological solutions
-is able to guide elderly persons and significant others in health promotion
-is able to act as a nursing expert in multidisciplinary teams.

EUR 560: Course fee for students external to Tampere University and Tampere University of Applied Sciences.
EUR 0: Courses are free of charge to degree students and exchange students (academic year 2020-2021) of Tampere University and Tampere University of Applied Sciences.
