English Language, Culture and History
This innovative English language course will improve your communication skills while helping you learn more about life, culture and history in the UK. You will also learn about everyday life in the UK, and study topics related to British culture and history.
This course is delivered by the Department of Language and Linguistics.
The International Summer School is open to all students aged over 18 who have completed secondary level education. It is particularly designed for current undergraduate students looking for a high-quality short-term university experience in the UK.
All Summer School teaching is in English and so it is essential that you have the level required to follow the course. We expect non-native English speaker students to have reached at least the equivalent of IELTS 5 to be able to join this course.
Taking a communicative approach, this course will help you build fluency and confidence in using English in real-life situations.
