From the initial idea to practical implementation and finalization: In this 5-day workshop, filmmaker Alberto Couceiro will teach the techniques of animation filmmaking. The workshop will allow participants to extensively deal with animation-related subjects in a hands-on manner, experiment with images, and make use of their creativity.

Participants will use stop motion, cutout animation, and object animation techniques to create short films in the studios and workshops of the Film University.

Based on the current Corona Regulations, this course might take place online.

Course leader

Alberto Couceiro has been a visiting lecturer at Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf since 2014. He has been working as an artistic assistant in the school's Animation department since 2018 and specializes in stop motion filmmaking.

Target group

The Animation Camp workshop is directed at creative people with or without previous knowledge who would like to learn animation techniques in a hands-on manner, are interested in applying their imagination to this field, and consider the possibility of becoming a professional animation artist.

Course aim

The 5-day "Animation Camp" gives international participants the opportunity to learn the techniques of animation filmmaking and to experiment with images in the studios and workshops of the Film University.

Fee info

EUR 620: The fee covers the cost for participation, materials, and the technology and studios used during the workshop. Travel and accommodation expenses are not included and must be covered by participants. We will be happy to provide you with recommendations for accommodations and hotels in the vicinity.
