language Dutch
duration 3 weeks

Due to the covid-19 outbreak, this 29th Intensive Dutch Language Course will be offered as a distance learning course, and can be studied from anywhere across the globe.
The teaching practice and didactic approach have been adapted to the extraordinary circumstances we are now living in; the course content and learning outcomes have not changed.

The University of Amsterdam’s Institute for Dutch Language Education (INTT) and The Amsterdam Summer University (AMSU) present the 2020 season of the Intensive Dutch Language Course, from 3-21 August 2020.

In the weeks preceding the course each participant’s level of command of the Dutch language will be assessed to make sure everyone is placed in the appropriate group.

This three-week full-time course is taught using a combination of video calling, individual feedback and studying the offered course-material. This course is available on six different levels, from Absolute Beginner (CEFR 0) to Advanced (CEFR B2).

A distance learning lesson consists of two parts:
• Synchronous learning: real-time contact with your fellow students and your teacher in online classes (approx. two hours per session).
• Asynchronous learning: going through course materials independently and doing online tasks and exercises on Canvas, the UvA’s online learning environment.
Together these parts add up to a four-hour lesson. These lessons will take place as scheduled on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, from 09:00 – 13:00 (CET).
