International Humanitarian Law in Theory and Practice
online courseThis unique programme gives a broad overview of the laws of armed conflict, and offers a range of opportunities to test the acquisition of knowledge through interactive exercises. The course covers, amongst others, the classification of conflicts, protection of the civilian population, combatants and prisoners of war, the rules governing the conduct of hostilities, and the law of non-international armed conflict.
The International Humanitarian Law in Theory and Practice Summer School offers a unique opportunity to learn from well-known and influential academics and leading practitioners from Leiden University, The Netherlands Defence Academy, the University of Amsterdam, and the International Committee of the Red Cross. You will gain first-hand knowledge on the rules and laws of armed conflict. The course also offers plenty of opportunities to network with fellow students and practitioners from all over the world.
