Contemporary Economic Sociology
online courseThe aim of the course is to demonstrate what kind of theoretical and empirical phenomena economic sociologists are dealing with. The contemporary themes include sustainable consumption, data economy, social media platforms, luxury consumption and shadow markets.
The students will understand the strengths and limitations of economic and socio-cultural frameworks in the analysis of modern market economies.
The lectures focus on selected number of timely themes and highlight the significance of alternative research orientations related to economic sociology. The course material covers a wide range of economic sociological theories.
