Course aim

In this course, students chart a journey through current performance and moving-image works together with poetry by artists belonging to the Great Ocean, a third of this planet. Seeking to create our non-colonial gestures to enact healing, rebalance and repair, students analyse and learn from the best practices of artists, writers and curators not usually studied in Northern Atlantic contexts. In placing personal research-creation in constellation with archipelagos of thought and community seemingly far from Europe, we decentre preconceived notions of knowledge and action arising from the Enlightenment to embrace the multitudinous vocality and the epistemology of the Majority World.
