The Pandemic and its Consequences

online course
when 18 July 2021 - 26 July 2021
language German
duration 2 weeks
credits 5 EC

The Covid-19 pandemic forced governments and managers around the globe to impose drastic measures. More than one year after the outbreak of the pandemic, the course aims at assessing the managerial, economic, and societal consequences of these measures. The interdisciplinary lecture programme looks at entrepreneurial opportunities of the pandemic and its consequences for customer behavior, sustainability and risk management, and corporate crisis communication. We also analyze consequences of the pandemic on economies and their public budgets. We finally focus on the indirect societal consequences of human capital loss, health deterioration, labour market entry during an economic crisis, and gender inequality induced by the pandemic.

The course will be held in live per ZOOM, but the sessions will be uploaded on our digital learning platfom, so that the students can
easily download each slot afterwards and watch it later.

After completing the module successfully, students will have a broad theoretical and empirical understanding of the managerial, economic, and societal implications of the Covid-19 pandemic.

An online guided tour of the city of Würzburg will give you an idea where we are and where you are warmly welcome to come and study after the pandemic comes to an end.
