This year the first CAIRELab Summer School, Artificial Intelligence: from theory to Value Based Healthcare practice, will take place online from the 23rd of August to 26st of August. The organisation CAIRELab of the LUMC aims to create, validate and implement responsible AI solutions in the clinical workflow. Together with a team of experts we try to overcome the road blocks of AI implementation.

Target group

(International) students who (nearly) completed a master’s degree in the field of data science, artificial intelligence, (technical) medicine or similar. Students who are aiming to do research on something closely related to AI in VHC healthcare in the future.

Course aim

The scope of this summer school is on implementing Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Value Based Healthcare (VBHC) practice. VBHC is the principle for our patient care. Internationally, there is a growing interest to implement the principles of VBHC, aiming to increasethe value of patient care at socially acceptable costs. AI is one of the fundamentals for innovation and is increasingly used to facilitate VBHC across and beyond all 10 themes for innovation. Successful implementation of AI in VBHC practiceis not just viewed froma technological point of view, but from a more holistic perspective. Specific attention is given to the people side of innovation and change and the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration when implementing AI-solutions in practice. This summer school is not intended to acquire skills in programming.
