Google Earth Engine
Lessons will start on Monday 09/05 with an introduction by Professor Gherardo Chirici – University of Florence. Then, the participants will form groups based on their skills and interests, to work on the realization of a GEE application until Friday 09/09. Here, we can assist you with the implementation of Google Earth Engine in your actual PhD/Research projects, too!
From Tuesday to Thursday, from 9 am to 1 pm, lessons and practical exercises will focus on Google Earth Engine coding, images elaboration, remote sensing techniques, and more. Group activities will take place every afternoon.
On Friday, an online open session will be held for everyone to attend: experts in various fields will participate, showing interesting GEE utilizations. Then, students’ groups will present their final Google Earth Engine application.

Learn how to process Remote Sensing big data at global scale, using Google Earth Engine environment and coding language.
By the end of the course, you will:
- Know basics of Remote Sensing
- Know basic coding language
- Know how to implement Google Earth Engine in your research activities
- Be able to develop a Google Earth Engine based application
Fee info
EUR 650: The fee includes a one-week course (pratical lessons and working groups), an ice-breaking meet, a social dinner and a guided tour in Florence. Accommodation, transports and meals are not included.
