Architecture of Deals: Principles of Transaction Design
In this course, participants will be exposed to practical methods for designing transactions to optimise the chances of a successful deal. The course will enable students to identify both commercial and legal issues in the transaction, to evaluate how deal issues impact the outcomes desired by the parties, and to craft solutions to close the deal successfully and ensure the long-term health of the relationship.
Course leader
Duc V. Trang is a Managing Director of Landon Advisory Services, a management consulting firm focused on the legal industry. Previously, he held several positions at Motorola Solutions, Inc., including general counsel for Asia Pacific & the Middle East.
Target group
Students who have completed at least one year in business or law.
Course aim
A. better understand and anticipate:
- linkages between commercial/business and legal issues;
- the range of potential outcomes that a party may face (good and bad); and
- potential pitfalls in transaction design choices;
B. understand and apply the various elements of the Transaction Design Framework to bring parties closer to concluding a transaction;
C. explore options of how to resolve and manage commercial legal and issues required to finalise and sustain transactions.

EUR 390: Fee includes: participation in one course, the social programs, certificate of participation, transcript for ECTS transfer (if requested), Wifi on campus.
Fee does not include: accommodation, travel to Budapest, local transportation, health insurance.
