This summer program offers business and economics students alike the chance to address questions of European markets and management in detail. Students spend three weeks of interdisciplinary study on the following modules:rn- Cross-Cultural Managementrn- Economics of the EUrn- Marketing for the Automotive IndustryrnField trips to companies (Volkswagen) and political institutions (EU Representation; German Bundestag) once a week enable students to combine theory and practice. The program is complemented by a German language and culture course at beginner's level, which will be taught concurrently with the business course.

Target group

Advanced undergraduate business and economics majors/minors (after 2 years of study) or graduates with good standing.rnProof of English proficiency (TOEFL ibt 90 or equivalent) is required.

Course aim

Students will be able to assess the process of political and economic integration in Europe. They will comprehend the development of the common market, the role of the central quasi-government and the economic stability enacted by a common monetary policy. They will be given an understanding of how communities (e.g. European companies) with diverse cultures differ in their approaches and attitudes to basic business variables. In additions, they will learn to analyze marketing- and branding strategies, especially for the automotive industry in Germany.
